Amherstopoly On Sale Now - support your PTO!

From the Amherst Bulletin:

"The board game called Amherstopoly is now raising money for educational expenses at the town's four elementary schools. It looks like Monopoly, with colored squares and markers that go around a board based on throws of dice. But instead of names of streets in Atlantic City, the colored squares represent Amherst landmarks and institutions.

More than 40 sponsors have paid all the production costs, said Becky Demling of the Crocker Farm School's PTO. All money from sales of the 1,000 games will go to PTOs, to cover the costs of educational enrichment programs. Some of these programs, such as field trips, used to be paid for through taxes. The Crocker Farm PTO also provides money for classroom supplies, an after-school program and baby-sitting at parent workshops, Demling said. If the games sell out, each PTO will get about $7,000.

Amherstopoly sells for $35 at A. J. Hastings and the Toy Box. It's also available [at a discount] at school events and through each PTO."
