Walking Wednesday - TURKEY TROT and CANNED FOOD DRIVE...
"Safe Routes to School" program will be hosting a Turkey Trot and canned food drive on Wednesday, November 14th . We need a minimum of 10 volunteers to hand out feathers (3) and direct/greet the kids, help put the feathers on the giant turkey(2), coordinate the turkey naming contest (2-3), and collect and deliver the canned food (2). Volunteers should plan to be at school from 8:15-9:15am.
Upon arriving at school, the walkers and bikers will be greeted by parent/guardian volunteers at rear entrance to the school. Each child will receive a feather to put on a huge turkey in the front lobby. During the day there will be additional Turkey Trots through and around the school so that as many children as possible can add feathers to our gigantic wildwood turkey. Additionally, all the children will enter a “Name the Turkey” raffle. At the end of the day the winning entry will be announced over the loud speaker.
